Lane County Jail Roster 2026: AIC Search & Booking Info

Lane County, Oregon • Eugene custody guide

Search the Lane County AIC Viewer First—Then Use the Right Court, Jail or Custody System

Lane County Sheriff’s Office operates the county’s adult corrections system and provides an Adult In Custody (AIC) Viewer for people currently held in the Lane County Jail. The viewer is not a complete historical-booking archive, so a missing name, old arrest or released booking may require a different record source.

Use this page to search the official viewer, read booking fields safely, troubleshoot a missing result, check court and release information, arrange visits and communication, send mail or money, request jail records, and move to Oregon DOC, VISOR, a municipal jail or federal custody when the facts point there.

Quick Answer: The AIC Viewer Is for Current Lane County Jail Custody

Current custody

Search the official AIC Viewer

The county says information is available online for people currently incarcerated in the Lane County Jail. If you cannot locate a specific custody, call Jail Records at 541-682-4263.

The search form accepts first name, last name and booking-date filters. It also supports the percent sign (%) as a wildcard when exact spelling is uncertain.

Historical custody

Do not use a missing viewer result as an arrest-history answer

Lane County says prior lodgings are no longer displayed in the public viewer. For historical custody, use the appropriate court or request releasable jail records.

A person can also be in a municipal jail, Oregon DOC custody, juvenile detention or federal custody instead of the Lane County Jail.

Important local distinction: Lane County says the Main Jail is the only jail in the county that can hold defendants and offenders charged with felony-level crimes, but Springfield, Cottage Grove, Florence and Junction City also operate municipal jail facilities.

Common fields in the Lane County Web Jail Viewer
Field What it can help confirm What not to assume
Booking Number A specific Lane County jail admission. It is the police or court case number.
Inmate ID The jail’s person identifier and a useful identifier for services/mail. It is an Oregon DOC SID number.
Booking Date When the jail booking was recorded. It equals the arrest time or first court appearance.
Scheduled Release A jail-system date when one is displayed. Release is guaranteed at that date or exact time.
Violation / Level The allegation and classification recorded in the jail system. It is a conviction or the final court disposition.
Arrest Agency / Case # The agency and incident/case reference connected with the arrest. That agency controls every charge, hold or release decision.
Court Case # / Next Court Date The court matter to verify through the appropriate court. The jail entry is the official or complete court docket.
Req. Bond/Bail / Cash Amount A release-related field tied to the displayed charge. One amount clears every charge, detainer or release condition.
Clearance A jail-system disposition/status for that displayed item. The person has no other open case, hold or supervision requirement.
Legal accuracy: arrest is not conviction; a booking charge is not the final filed charge; “NO BAIL” or a zero-dollar field should not be interpreted alone; and a scheduled release date is not confirmation that the person has actually left custody.

No AIC Viewer Result? Use This Decision Path

The arrest was recent

Possible explanation: intake or booking may still be processing, or the person may be held by a different local facility.

Next action: retry the official search with a broader name and call Lane County Jail Records at 541-682-4263 when the custody question is urgent.

The person was in Lane County Jail before, but is not there now

What the county says: the public viewer no longer displays prior lodgings. A missing name means the person is not currently in custody at the Lane County Jail facility.

Next action: use the appropriate court for case history or submit a jail-records request for releasable custody records.

The arrest happened in Springfield, Cottage Grove, Florence or Junction City

Lane County lists municipal jail contacts for Springfield (541-744-4177), Cottage Grove (541-942-9145), Florence (541-997-3515) and Junction City (541-998-1245). Check the actual booking destination instead of assuming every local arrest is in the county jail.

The person may have transferred to Oregon DOC

Use Oregon Offender Search when sentencing, a state-prison transfer or other DOC jurisdiction is indicated. County release and state intake can occur at different times, so recheck when timing matters.

The case is federal

Use the Bureau of Prisons locator for federal correctional custody. A federal case does not automatically mean the person is already in BOP custody.

The person is under 18

Do not rely on the adult AIC Viewer for juvenile detention. Lane County’s Juvenile Justice Center is a separate system at 2727 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in Eugene; contact the appropriate juvenile authority for permitted information.

Historical Custody, Jail Records and Oregon Mugshot Restrictions

Lane County provides releasable jail records through an online records-request portal or a paper request. The county says requesters may seek jail or inmate records and booking photos when disclosure is allowed by law; redactions can apply because of confidentiality requirements, investigations, pending court matters and CJIS requirements.

Current fee examples

  • Comprehensive AIC file, first 4 pages: $10
  • AIC history/dates of incarceration, first 4 pages: $5
  • AIC arrest report, first 4 pages: $5
  • Mug shot profile, when lawfully releasable: $7
  • Additional copier pages: $0.25 each

Use the current Sheriff’s Office fee schedule before paying because fees can change.

Mugshots are not part of the current public viewer

Lane County says Oregon law has restricted law-enforcement release of booking photos since January 1, 2022, except in specified circumstances. Mugshots were removed from the public site. A fee listed in the records schedule does not override disclosure restrictions.

If you believe a statutory exception applies, use the Sheriff’s public-records process rather than a third-party “free mugshot” page.

Use the Court Record for Case Outcome, Hearing and Release Questions

Lane County Circuit Court is in the 2nd Judicial District at 125 E. 8th Avenue, Eugene. The court publishes a main number of 541-682-4020, criminal case information at 541-682-7692, Pretrial Release Services at 541-682-4201 and court records at 541-682-7487.

In-custody arraignments

County jail publishes local court times

The jail information page states that in-custody Eugene Municipal Court arraignments are held at the jail at 11:00 a.m. and Lane County Circuit Court arraignments at 1:30 p.m.

It also tells visitors to arrive 30 minutes early and to call 541-682-4263 first to confirm the AIC’s appearance.

Current online-search limitation

OJD online availability can change

At the October 3, 2026 review, Oregon Judicial Department’s records-and-calendar page reported its Circuit and Tax Online Record Search as unavailable. If it remains unavailable, contact Lane County Circuit Court rather than assuming no case exists.

Before paying bail/security or planning release

  • Confirm the person is still in Lane County Jail custody.
  • Read every charge and release-related field, not one amount alone.
  • Record the court case number and identify the correct court.
  • Ask whether another charge, detainer, parole/probation matter or court order blocks release.
  • Use Lane County Circuit Court Pretrial Release Services when the matter belongs there.
  • Do not assume payment equals immediate release; processing and other holds may still apply.
  • Confirm actual release before arranging transportation.
Useful verification script:
“I’m trying to confirm current custody and release status for [full legal name]. The AIC Viewer shows booking number [number] and court case [number if shown]. Can you confirm whether the person is still held, whether another hold applies, and which court or office controls the next release step?”

Lane County Jail Social Visiting: Approval Comes Before the Visit

  1. The AIC must be classified. Lane County says classification can take up to three days and determines privilege level and visiting schedule.
  2. The AIC submits a Visitor Request Form. The form needs the visitor’s full name, date of birth, current address, phone and relationship. The AIC can update the visitor list every two weeks.
  3. Call ahead. The county encourages visitors to call 541-682-4263 between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays, because the day or time can change.
  4. Arrive early. Visitors must arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled visit; check-in cuts off 10 minutes before the visit.
  5. Bring the required identification. Adults need current state-issued ID, driver’s license or passport. Minors have additional birth-certificate and identification rules.
  6. Expect security screening. Visitors must clear the metal detector unless an authorized medical exception applies, and restricted items must be removed or secured.
Dress and property rules are enforced: the county’s visitor rules restrict suggestive or security-risk clothing, certain electronic devices, tobacco items, sharp objects, weapons, food and drink in the visiting area. Review the official visiting rules before traveling.

Read Lane County’s current visiting rules and identification requirements.

Phone, Messages and Video Visits Use Smart Communications

Phone calls

AICs make outgoing calls; they cannot receive ordinary incoming calls. Lane County currently lists Smart Communications local, intrastate and interstate call rates at $0.09 per minute.

The county also lists five free phone calls per week, up to 15 minutes each.

Video visits

Remote video visits can be scheduled through SmartInmate.com. The county lists one free remote video session per week, up to 30 minutes, plus limited no-charge lobby video stations.

Messages and photos

The county currently lists eight free SMS messages per month, then $0.10 each; voicemail $1; traditional electronic messages $0.50; approved digital photos $0.50.

Official page-hours conflict: Lane County’s main jail page lists the Main Jail Lobby as open weekdays 8:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m. and closed weekends/holidays, while its video-visitation text says lobby video stations are available “everyday” 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Because those statements do not fully align, call 541-682-4263 before making a trip solely for an onsite video visit.

Smart Communications account/support: SmartInmate.com or 727-349-1561. Lane County says recorded-call rules apply except for attorney and verified-clergy calls, and TTY services are available on request.

Regular AIC Mail Now Uses the Florida Scanning Address

Lane County changed regular personal mail routing on September 26, 2025. Regular letters, postcards and greeting cards are sent to Smart Communications for scanning and are then made available to the AIC through a tablet or housing-area kiosk.

Smart Communications / Lane County Adult Corrections Facility
Adult in Custody Name and ID Number

  • Include the AIC’s name and ID number; obtain the ID from the AIC Viewer or 541-682-4263.
  • Use a valid return address.
  • Packages containing personal property or clothing are normally returned unless a supervisor authorized them first.
  • Acceptable publications must be prepaid, new, softbound and mailed directly by a verifiable commercial publisher/distributor.
  • Standard photos may be 4×6 or smaller, non-Polaroid, with no more than 10 at a time.
  • Postage stamps, blank envelopes/paper, glitter, glue, tape, paper clips, food and many other listed items are prohibited.
Rejected-mail review: Lane County provides an administrative-review process for certain rejected correspondence. The request must be in writing and received within seven days of the violation notice; follow the county’s current instructions before sending the review.

Check the complete Lane County mail rules before sending anything.

Keep Commissary Money, Communication Funds and Packages Separate

Trust / commissary deposits

Access Corrections

Lane County accepts deposits through the lobby kiosk, Access Corrections online, or by phone at 866-345-1884. The county says fees apply to deposits except funds deposited during booking.

Cash should never be mailed, and the facility does not accept checks or money orders for AIC account deposits.

Commissary packages

Access Securepak

Lane County identifies Access Securepak as its route for ordering approved commissary items for a person housed at the Adult Corrections facility.

Confirm the correct AIC and current facility before placing an order.

Do not mix account types: Smart Communications funds are for supported phone/video/message services. Access Corrections handles AIC trust/commissary deposits. A court security or release payment is a separate legal payment and should be verified with the responsible court/jail before payment.

Medical, Mental-Health and PREA Safety Routes

Medication or health information

Lane County tells people entering custody to bring a medication list or, when possible, empty current prescription bottles. For a loved one in jail, the Jail Medical Section can be reached at 541-682-2213.

Family and friends can also use the county’s AIC Health Information Form to communicate medical or mental-health information to jail staff. The county says the completed form can be hand-delivered to a Jail Records Officer or faxed using the number on the form.

PREA / sexual abuse reporting

Lane County publishes a confidential PREA Report Hotline at 541-344-4835 for sexual abuse or misconduct that occurred while in Sheriff’s Office custody.

For an urgent crime or immediate danger, call 911. The county also lists Sexual Assault Support Services crisis support at 541-343-7277 or 1-844-404-7700.

Alternative Jail Programs Can Change Where a Sentenced Person Serves Time

Lane County operates community-based alternatives including Electronic Monitoring, Community Service and Sheriff’s Work Crew for eligible participants. Eligibility is assessed by the Sheriff’s Office or, for pretrial participants, by the appropriate release process; a family member cannot simply choose an alternative program because the person appears in the jail system.

Electronic Monitoring

Program phone: 541-682-2139. Lane County describes GPS/alcohol-monitoring options for eligible sentenced or approved pretrial participants.

Community Service

Program phone: 541-682-2257. Sentenced participants may be placed with qualifying nonprofit or government agencies.

Sheriff’s Work Crew

Program phone: 541-682-2117. Eligible sentenced participants can perform supervised work projects instead of serving all time inside the jail.

Use VISOR for supported custody-change notifications

Oregon VISOR can search supported county/state custody and supervision information and can provide release or transfer notifications. The current VISOR portal lists 855-691-6246 for 24/7 support.

Phone-number conflict found during this refresh: Lane County’s own VISOR information still displays an older 888-749-8080 number in some text, while the current Oregon VISOR portal and Lane County’s main jail page also show 855-691-6246. For portal/login/notification support, use the current Oregon VISOR number, 855-691-6246.

Open Oregon VISOR. Do not rely on an automated alert as the only safety plan when timing is critical.

Use Lane County Booking Information Responsibly

  • An arrest or booking is not a conviction.
  • A jail charge can be amended, dismissed or resolved differently in court.
  • A warrant or court case does not prove current jail custody.
  • A scheduled release date is not a guaranteed release time.
  • A missing current-viewer result does not erase a historical arrest or court case.
  • Old screenshots and search snippets should not be treated as current custody proof.
  • Do not use public jail information to harass, threaten, stalk or shame a person.
  • Use official court records or certified copies when legal reliance matters.

Lane County Jail Roster FAQs

Where is the official Lane County, Oregon jail roster?

Lane County uses an Adult In Custody Viewer rather than a static roster page. Open inmateinformation.lanecounty.org to search people currently held in the Lane County Jail.

Can I search released Lane County jail bookings in the public AIC Viewer?

Lane County says the public viewer now displays current custody and no longer displays prior lodgings. For historical custody, use the appropriate court or request releasable jail records from the Sheriff’s Office.

The official booking search accepts the percent sign (%) as a wildcard anywhere in a name. Start with a broad last-name search and add first name or booking-date filters only when needed.

Why are mugshots missing from the Lane County AIC Viewer?

Lane County says Oregon law restricts law-enforcement release of booking photos except in specified circumstances. Public mugshots were removed from the site. Lawful requests must go through the records process.

What should I do if a recently arrested person is not in the viewer?

Retry with a broader spelling and confirm the booking destination. If the custody question is urgent, call Lane County Jail Records at 541-682-4263. Also consider the listed municipal jails when the arrest occurred in those cities.

How do I find a Lane County Circuit Court case?
