Choose the Right Record Before You Search a Name
Cassia County operates separate public tools for current jail records, recent bookings and outstanding warrants. They answer different questions, so opening the correct one first can prevent a false custody or release assumption.
Use this guide to search safely, understand bond and OR release, verify court records, schedule visits, address inmate mail correctly, deposit commissary funds and move to another custody system when necessary.
Jail Roster vs Recent Bookings vs Outstanding Warrants
These county records are related, but they are not interchangeable.
| Record | Best use | Most common mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Jail Roster | Check whether someone appears in the county’s current public jail records. | Treating an old screenshot or saved result as current custody. |
| Recent Bookings | Check whether a newer booking record exists. | Assuming every recently booked person remains incarcerated. |
| Outstanding Warrants | Check publicly listed Cassia County warrant information. | Assuming a warrant means the person has already been arrested. |
| Idaho iCourt | Check public case, hearing and court information. | Using a court case as proof of current jail location. |
Current Custody
Use the official Cassia County Jail Roster.
Newer Booking
Use the official Recent Bookings database.
Outstanding Warrant
Current Status by Phone
Call Mini-Cassia at 208-878-1000 when the answer is time-sensitive.
Booking, warrant and arrest records are not convictions. Use Idaho court records for the legal case and final outcome.

How Current Is Cassia County Jail Information?
The current Mini-Cassia Criminal Justice Center page says the jail database is updated frequently, but it also warns that recent inmate-status changes may not yet appear.
Cassia County still has an older “Who Has Been Booked” page that says the database is updated every 24 hours.
Because the county itself publishes different update wording, do not advertise the roster as instant, live or guaranteed real-time.
Call Instead of Waiting for the Website When
- The arrest happened very recently.
- A judge just changed bond or release conditions.
- Bond was just posted.
- A transfer may be underway.
- Medication or health information needs urgent coordination.
- You are driving a long distance for a visit.
- You are arranging release transportation.
- A safety decision depends on current custody.

How to Search the Cassia County Jail Roster
Open the County Roster
Start with Cassia County rather than a private people-search site, copied mugshot page or search-engine snippet.
Search by Name or Booking Number
The official interface allows a name or booking-number search.
Try Name Variations
If the full name fails, try only the surname, a middle name, maiden name, former surname, multi-part surname or hyphenated spelling.
Compare the Complete Record
Do not stop at the name or booking photograph. Compare booking timing, age or other identifying details, charge information and bond when available.
Check Recent Bookings for a New Arrest
If the event occurred recently, use the separate booking database before assuming the roster missed the person.
Move Legal Questions to Court Records
Use Idaho courts for the filed case, hearing date, bond order, amended charge or legal outcome.
Juvenile limitation: Cassia County says juvenile offenders are not included in this adult jail database.
What a Cassia County Booking Record Can Tell You
| Detail | Useful for | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Finding a possible matching record. | A same or similar name establishes identity. |
| Booking date/time | Matching a record to a recent event. | The person remains in custody now. |
| Charge | Understanding the allegation connected to the booking. | It is the final prosecuted charge or conviction. |
| Statute / charge number | Helping identify the listed allegation. | It explains every legal element or defense. |
| Bond | Starting a release-status check. | Payment is available or will cause immediate release. |
| Booking photo | Supporting identity comparison. | A photograph proves guilt. |
Arrest is not conviction. Charges can be changed, dismissed, reduced or resolved differently after prosecutor and court review.
What a $0 Bond Can Mean
Cassia County’s Public Defender page specifically warns that a zero-dollar entry has more than one possible meaning.
No-Bond Hold
A probation violation can involve a hold with no current option for release through a monetary bond.
Serving a Sentence
The person may already be serving a sentence rather than waiting for an ordinary bond release.
Another Count Has the Bond
One count may display $0 while another count in the same case carries the actual bond.
$0 Bond Helper
$0 does not mean “free release.” Review every count and verify the current court order or hold.
After reviewing the roster, use the official Public Defender explanation for Cassia County’s own bond guidance.
What “OR Release” Means
OR means release on the person’s own recognizance.
Cassia County explains that the person is released based on an agreement to return for court proceedings and comply with conditions ordered by the judge rather than because a monetary bond was paid.
OR Release Can Still Have Conditions
Conditions can include required court appearances and other requirements ordered by the judge, including testing in some cases.
The signed court order controls an individual defendant’s conditions. This article is not a substitute for legal advice.
Bond and Release Verification Checklist
- Confirm the person is still in Mini-Cassia custody.
- Confirm the correct legal name and booking number.
- Read every charge and hold.
- Check every displayed bond amount.
- Ask which county, agency or court controls release.
- Check whether another warrant or hold prevents release.
- Use iCourt when a judge’s order controls the issue.
- Confirm the approved payment method before paying.
- Ask whether payment would make the person release-eligible.
- Confirm release again before travelling for pickup.
Release Verification Call Script
“I am checking current custody for [full legal name], booking number [if known]. The online record shows [bond or hold]. Is that still current, is another hold active, which court or agency controls release, and should anyone make payment or pickup arrangements yet?”
Mini-Cassia: 208-878-1000.
What to Do When the Person Is Not Listed
The Arrest Is Too Recent
Processing may still be underway. Check Recent Bookings, retry the roster later, or call the facility when timing matters.
The Name Is Different
Try the surname by itself, a maiden or former name, middle name, multi-part surname and alternate spelling.
The Person Was Released
A prior booking can remain relevant even though the person is no longer incarcerated. Move to Idaho court records when the legal case continues.
Another Agency Controls Custody
Minidoka County, Idaho DOC, another county or federal authorities may be involved.
The Person Is a Juvenile
Cassia County expressly excludes juveniles from the public adult jail list.
Do not translate “not listed” into “not arrested.” The county itself warns that recent status changes may not immediately appear online.
Why Minidoka County Can Matter in a Cassia Jail Search
Current Cassia County public notices identify the Mini-Cassia Criminal Justice Center as one of the programs covered by Joint Powers agreements between Cassia and Minidoka Counties.
That means the physical jail location and the county or agency controlling the legal case are not always the same question.
| Record points to | What to verify next |
|---|---|
| Cassia County | Cassia court record plus current Mini-Cassia custody. |
| Minidoka County | Whether a Minidoka court case, warrant or hold controls release. |
| Idaho DOC | Whether the person has transferred to state custody or supervision. |
| Federal authority | Whether a federal hold or transfer affects county release. |
One Useful Question for Jail Staff
“Which agency or court currently controls release on this booking?”
How to Check a Cassia County Criminal Case
Once you have the correct identity, use Idaho’s court system for the legal case rather than expecting the jail roster to show everything.
Use Idaho iCourt to Check Available Public Information About
- Criminal cases
- Case numbers
- Available hearings
- The court handling the matter
- Filed or amended charges
- Bond or release orders
- Public case events and outcomes
After identifying the correct defendant, use the official Idaho iCourt portal.

Do not use the roster as a hearing calendar. Court events and jail custody can change independently.
How to Request an Actual Cassia County Court Record
Cassia County publishes a separate document-request process.
For a Standard Court Records Request
- Complete the county’s court records request form in full.
- Sign the request.
- State clearly the purpose of the request.
- Identify the specific records requested.
- Email the completed form to court@cassia.idcourts.gov.
Bulk records requests: Cassia County says bulk requests must be referred to the Idaho Supreme Court.
Review the instructions on the official Cassia County Court Records page before sending your request.
Court Fine Payment Is Not Jail Bond or Commissary
Cassia County publishes several court-payment methods. Use this section only for a court payment—not simply because a jail record shows bond.
| Payment method | Current county instruction |
|---|---|
| Check / money order | Make payable to Cassia County Magistrate Court and mail to the Judicial Center at 1559 Overland Ave., Burley, ID 83318. |
| Receipt by mail | Include a self-addressed stamped envelope when requesting a receipt. |
| Online | Use the Idaho court payment route; the county currently lists a 3.5% convenience processing fee. |
| Telephone | Call 208-878-7351; the county currently lists a 3.5% convenience processing fee. |
| Cash | Pay in person at the Judicial Center. Cassia County says not to mail cash. |
Three different money paths: a court fine/payment, jail bond and inmate commissary deposit are separate transactions. Never assume one payment system handles all three.
After confirming that you actually owe a court payment, use the official Cassia County Court Payments page.
Mini-Cassia Public Defender Help

When the Public Defender Is More Relevant Than the Jail
- You need legal advice about a charge.
- You need help interpreting a no-bond hold.
- You need advice about OR or other release conditions.
- You need representation in a qualifying criminal case.
- You need legal strategy rather than custody status.
How to Schedule a Mini-Cassia Visit
Cassia County directs visitors to InmateSales to create an account and schedule visitation.
Before Creating the Visit
- Confirm the person remains in Mini-Cassia custody.
- Create the required InmateSales account.
- Use only appointment availability currently shown by the system.
- Make sure you are approved or authorized to visit.
- Check whether a probation, parole or no-contact restriction applies.
- Confirm current rules again before a long drive.
Lobby Restrictions Published by Cassia County
- No cell phones.
- No cameras.
- No food or drink.
- No electronic music players, games or electronic toys.
- No more than two adults may visit one inmate at the same time.
- Children must remain supervised.
- Visitors are expected to behave quietly and orderly.
Probationers and Parolees
Cassia County says probationers and parolees must obtain written authorization from their supervising authority.
No-Contact Restriction
A visitor must not be a party listed on a CPOR/no-contact order for the person they intend to visit.
Do not drive to the facility expecting an unscheduled walk-in visit. Complete the current registration and approval process first.
Start with the official Cassia County Friends and Family page, then follow its InmateSales scheduling link.
Personal Mail and Legal Mail Use Different Addresses
Cassia County’s mail-procedure notice says ordinary personal mail has not been accepted directly at Mini-Cassia Criminal Justice Center since December 13, 2022.

What Happens After Personal Mail Arrives?
- The mail is digitally scanned.
- The inmate views it on a tablet and/or kiosk.
- Pictures and drawings can be scanned.
- Incorrectly addressed envelopes can be returned or delayed.
What Cannot Be Scanned?
- Paper larger than 8.5 × 11 inches
- Non-paper items
- Packages
- Certified mail
How to Get the Original Letter Back
If the sender wants the physical original returned, the official notice says to include a self-addressed stamped envelope with the original personal mail.

The county identifies legal mail and publications sent directly from a publisher, distributor or authorized retailer as exceptions to the Securus personal-mail route.
Do not send an ordinary personal letter to 1415 Albion Avenue. Use the current Securus Digital Mail Center address unless facility staff provides newer instructions.
Review the official Mail Procedure Change PDF immediately before mailing.
How to Add Money to an Inmate Commissary Account
Cassia County directs friends and family to JailATM for commissary deposits.
Before You Deposit
- Refresh the current jail roster.
- Confirm the exact inmate.
- Confirm the person remains at Mini-Cassia.
- Start from Cassia County’s own Friends and Family page.
- Make sure JailATM shows the correct facility.
- Review transaction fees before submitting payment.
- Save the confirmation number.
JailATM money is not automatically bond, a court fine, restitution or phone credit.
After confirming current custody, use the official county family-information page to reach the current JailATM route.
How to Confirm Current Inmate Phone or Messaging Service
The current Cassia County Friends and Family page clearly identifies InmateSales for visit scheduling and JailATM for commissary. It does not publish enough current telephone-account or call-rate information to justify guessing a phone provider or price.
Before buying telephone or messaging credit, call Mini-Cassia at 208-878-1000 and ask for the current provider, account type and funding instructions.
Phone Provider Call Script
“Which service currently handles inmate telephone calls or messaging at Mini-Cassia, and is that account separate from commissary and visitation?”
Use Idaho VINE for Custody Notifications
Idaho’s Office of the Attorney General identifies VINE as a way to access custody-status and criminal-case information and register for notifications.
VINE Can Help When
- You want supported release notifications.
- You want custody-status updates.
- You need supported criminal-case notifications.
- You are monitoring a safety-related change.
State-custody distinction: if a person has transferred into Idaho Department of Correction custody, also use IDOC’s Resident/Client Search and Victim Services. IDOC says current resident locations are updated daily, not instantly.
For state guidance, open the Idaho Attorney General Victim Assistance page and use its VINE link.
How to Request a Cassia County Sheriff’s Record
An inmate roster is not the same as an incident report, arrest narrative, investigative file or court record.
Have These Details Ready
- Full legal name
- Approximate incident or arrest date
- Incident location when known
- Report, case or booking number when available
- A narrow description of the specific record requested
129 East 14th Street
Burley, ID 83318
Records: 208-878-1107
Non-Emergency Dispatch: 208-878-2251
Public Records Request Script
“I am requesting the releasable [incident report/arrest record/other identified record] involving [name] from approximately [date]. The report or booking number is [number if known]. Please let me know which form is required and whether any fee applies before processing.”
Use the official Cassia County Forms page and select the Public Record Request form.
Some investigative, juvenile, victim or confidential information may not be publicly releasable.
How to Report Sexual Abuse or Harassment in Mini-Cassia Custody
The Mini-Cassia Criminal Justice Center publishes a zero-tolerance policy for sexual abuse and sexual harassment.
Current Live Facility Contacts
- Mini-Cassia staff: 208-878-1000
- Jail Lieutenant: 208-878-1136
- Staff Sergeant: 208-878-1137
- Cassia County Sheriff’s Office: 208-878-2251
- Crime Stoppers: 208-878-2900
- Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office: 208-434-2320
Use the live jail page as the current contact source. An older third-party reporting PDF still contains individual staff names and extension details that do not exactly match the current role-based contacts.
What the 2025 Annual PREA Report Says
The facility’s annual report covers January 1 through December 31, 2025 and says there were zero PREA allegations during 2025.
The report says incident reviews, when needed, examine policy effectiveness, staffing, physical-plant factors and video monitoring.
Do not misread the PDF table: the report also contains a table explicitly headed “2023 PREA Statistics.” Those table figures are not 2025 statistics.
For current reporting information, use the official Mini-Cassia Criminal Justice Center page.
Use 911 for an immediate emergency.
Check Idaho DOC, Federal Custody or Another Idaho County
Idaho Department of Correction
Use IDOC when sentencing or transfer may have moved the person into state custody or supervision.
Federal Custody
Use the federal locator for established Bureau of Prisons custody.
Bannock County
If the arrest, court or transfer points toward Pocatello, switch to the appropriate local system.
Canyon County
If custody points toward Caldwell or Nampa instead of Burley, use Canyon County.
Bonneville County
If the case or transfer points toward Idaho Falls, use the Bonneville County system.
Federal Hold Warning
A U.S. Marshals or other federal hold does not guarantee that the person will immediately appear in the Bureau of Prisons locator.

- Do not treat OR release as meaning “no conditions.”
- Do not harass, threaten or publicly shame someone because of a roster entry.

Cassia County Jail Roster FAQs
Where is the official Cassia County jail roster?
Cassia County publishes its official Jail Roster on Cassia.gov. The interface allows searching by name or booking number. The county warns that recent status changes may not immediately appear and says actual inmate status should be confirmed in person or by phone.
What is the difference between the Jail Roster and Recent Bookings?
The Jail Roster is the better starting point for current public custody information. Recent Bookings is a separate county database for newer booking records. A recent booking does not prove the person remains incarcerated.
How often is Cassia County jail information updated?
The current Mini-Cassia page says the database is updated frequently, while an older Cassia County page says every 24 hours. Because the county publishes different wording, do not treat the online information as guaranteed real-time. Call 208-878-1000 when current status matters.
What does a zero-dollar bond mean in Cassia County?
Cassia County’s Public Defender page says zero dollars can mean a no-bond probation hold, that the person is serving a sentence, or that one count shows zero while another count carries the actual bond. Court filings may be needed to determine the real bond status.
What does OR release mean in Cassia County?
OR means release on the person’s own recognizance. The person is released based on an agreement to return to court and comply with conditions ordered by the judge rather than because a monetary bond was paid.
How do I schedule a Mini-Cassia jail visit?
Cassia County directs visitors to InmateSales to create an account and schedule visits. Visitors must also comply with county approval, lobby, probation or parole, child-supervision and no-contact restrictions.
Where do I send personal mail to a Cassia County inmate?
The county’s official mail notice directs personal correspondence to the Securus Digital Mail Center-Mini-Cassia, P.O. Box 969, Lebanon, Missouri 65536, using the inmate’s name and Securus ID.
Where does Mini-Cassia legal mail go?
The official mail notice says legal mail and qualifying publications sent by a publisher, distributor or authorized retailer go directly to Mini-Cassia Criminal Justice Center, 1415 Albion Avenue, Burley, Idaho 83318, using the inmate’s name and ID.
How do I add commissary money for a Mini-Cassia inmate?
Cassia County directs friends and family to JailATM for commissary deposits. Confirm current custody, the correct inmate and the facility before paying, and do not confuse commissary deposits with bail, court fines or telephone funding.
How do I check a Cassia County criminal court case?
Use Idaho iCourt for supported public case information or contact the Cassia County Judicial Center at 208-878-7351. Formal court-record requests require Cassia County’s request form to be completed, signed and emailed to court@cassia.idcourts.gov.
