Clark County WA Jail Roster: Match the CFN Before You Pay, Visit or Mail
Start with the official Clark County Jail Services roster for current Vancouver jail custody. Match the person’s CFN, booking date, location and charge information, then use the separate recent-release, court, bail, visitation, mail or account source for the action you need.
Who Actually Operates Clark County Jail?
The current jail operator is the Clark County Department of Jail Services. Clark County transferred jail management from the Sheriff’s Office to the County Manager’s Office and established the Department of Jail Services in 2023.
Custody, jail records, release processing, visits, mail, property and facility operations.
Incident reports, investigations and agency-specific warrant information can belong to law enforcement rather than Jail Services.
Hearings, filed charges, court orders and final disposition belong to the court record.
County jail custody is separate from Washington prison and federal prison custody.
Choose the Official Source That Can Answer the Question
How to Search the Clark County WA Jail Roster
The current county roster is a long public register with a Book Date filter. It does not currently operate like a standard first-name/last-name search form, so browser Find is often the fastest name-search method.
Confirm Vancouver, Washington
Look for the official clark.wa.gov domain and Clark County Jail Services. Do not use a Las Vegas, Nevada detention result because the county name is the same.
Open the Live Jail Roster
Use the official county page rather than a copied inmate list, mugshot archive, social-media post or background-check advertisement.
Find the Last Name on the Page
On Windows use Ctrl+F; on Mac use Command+F; on a phone use the browser’s Find in Page function. Try a maiden name, hyphenated form or reasonable spelling variation when the first attempt fails.
Use the Book-Date Filter When You Know the Arrest Window
The roster provides start and end book-date fields. A narrow range can make a recent booking easier to locate and can reduce confusion between people with similar names.
Match the CFN and Full Entry
Compare the CFN, full legal name, book date, location, release-date field and charges. A common name by itself is not enough to identify the correct person.
Verify Court and Release Information Separately
The roster is a custody register, not the complete court docket. Use the court record for hearings and disposition, and use Recent Releases or Jail Services when actual release status matters.
What the Current Clark County Roster Fields Mean
| Field | What it helps answer | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| CFN | Clark County jail control-file number used to identify the inmate record and for services such as mail. | CFN is not the same thing as a court case number. |
| Name | The legal name displayed by the current Jail Register. | A name-only match identifies the correct individual. |
| Book Date | The date associated with the jail booking shown in the register. | It is necessarily the exact arrest time, filing date or conviction date. |
| Location | The roster’s current location/housing code. | Codes such as A through H are street addresses, courts or separate public facilities. |
| Release Date | A release-related date when the roster contains one. | It guarantees an exact pickup time or rules out another hold. |
| Charges | The charge wording connected with the custody entry. | The charge is a conviction or the final court disposition. |
Clark County WA Mugshots Are Not the Main Custody Lookup
The current official Jail Register reviewed for this refresh displays CFN, name, book date, location, release date and charges. It does not present a mugshot column as the primary roster lookup.
Use the Roster for Current Custody
A current CFN and booking entry is more useful for present-custody verification than an old image copied by a commercial mugshot site.
Use Court Records for Outcome
A booking photograph does not show dismissal, amended charges, plea, conviction, acquittal or sentencing. The court record controls those legal outcomes.
What to Do When the Name Is Missing
| Problem | Possible explanation | Next action | Official verification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Very recent arrest | Transport, intake, identity review or medical screening may still be underway. | Recheck the roster and call Jail Services if current custody is urgent. | 564-397-4996, 24 hours |
| Name not found | Different legal spelling, maiden/former surname, hyphenation or suffix. | Try reasonable legal-name variations and a book-date range. | Current Jail Roster |
| Person appeared earlier | Release may already have been processed. | Check the county Recent Releases page. | Recent Releases + 564-397-4996 |
| Case exists but no roster entry | A criminal case or warrant can exist without current county-jail custody. | Search Washington Courts and the handling court. | Washington Courts / Clark County court |
| Sentenced or transferred | Custody may have moved to Washington DOC. | Search by name or DOC number. | Washington DOC Incarcerated Search |
| Federal custody is possible | A federal sentence or transfer may place the person in another system. | Use the BOP locator when appropriate. | Federal BOP |
| Old directory shows Jail Work Center | Third-party data may predate the housing closure. | Do not treat Lower River Road as a current second inmate housing site without current county confirmation. | Clark County Jail Facilities page |
Find the Court After You Find the Jail Record
The jail roster does not replace the court docket. Use Washington Courts, Clark County daily dockets and the Clerk’s Odyssey guidance to determine the actual court, case number, hearing date and filed documents.
1200 Franklin Street
Clark County Superior Court
1200 Franklin St
Vancouver, WA 98660
564-397-2150
Use Superior Court and the Clerk for felony and other Superior Court matters, current dockets, filed documents and official case information.
210 E. 13th Street
Clark County District Court
210 E. 13th St
Vancouver, WA 98660
564-397-2424
This is a particularly important 2026 update: District Court is now in a separate building rather than at the historic courthouse address used by older guides.
Clark County Clerk
1200 Franklin St
Vancouver, WA 98660
Criminal: 564-397-2295
The Clerk directs users to Odyssey Portal to locate a Superior Court case number and obtain case-summary/calendar/document information.
Superior Court daily docket and the District Court daily docket should be rechecked on the day of a hearing because calendars can change.
A Warrant Search Is Not the Same as a Jail Search
Clark County District Court says it can provide information about outstanding warrants within its jurisdiction. The Sheriff’s Criminal Records Unit also maintains wanted-person information for law-enforcement purposes.
District Court Warrant
For a District Court bench warrant, call 564-397-2424. The court’s FAQ states that bench-warrant quash hearings can be scheduled through District Court Administration.
Sheriff Criminal Records
The Sheriff’s Criminal Records Unit lists public hours Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., phone 564-397-2211. That number is for Sheriff criminal-record/warrant functions; do not confuse it with the current 24-hour jail information number, 564-397-4996.
Bail and Release: Verify Every Charge Before Paying
Clark County says a person with bail amounts may be eligible for release, but full bail amounts for all applicable charges must be satisfied before release. A no-bail charge prevents pre-court release through ordinary bail.
During Normal Business Hours
The county directs bail payment to the Clark County Courthouse. Verify the current amount and the handling court before arriving.
After Business Hours
Clark County directs bail payment to Clark County Jail Records. Family/friends or a bail bond company may pay according to the applicable process.
Published Release-Processing Guidelines
| Release situation | County’s general guideline | Why you should still verify |
|---|---|---|
| Bail posted or fines paid | Approximately 2–4 hours after payment | Housing, security, holds and processing can delay release. |
| Court release ordered 8 a.m.–noon | Late afternoon | Court-order transmission and jail processing still have to occur. |
| Court release ordered noon–5 p.m. | Early evening | After-hours releases are processed in order received. |
| Day sentence complete | About 7–8 a.m. | Operational needs can change actual discharge timing. |
| Sentence under four days | Around the same time of day as booking | This remains guidance rather than a guaranteed pickup appointment. |
Video Visits, Calls and Voicemail
Wait Before Scheduling a Visit
Clark County states that an inmate must have been in custody for 72 hours before any type of visiting is permitted.
Personal Visits Are Video-Based
Personal inmate visiting is currently limited to video. Remote visits use GettingOut, and one person can use an available lobby kiosk at the Main Jail.
Inmates Cannot Receive Ordinary Calls
Housing-unit telephones are available for outgoing inmate calls. Clark County lists Main Jail phone availability as daily, 7 a.m.–10 p.m., subject to housing-unit rules.
Up to 15 Minutes
Ordinary calls can be up to 15 minutes and are recorded; attorney calls are the stated exception. Three-way and unwanted calls are prohibited.
GettingOut customer service: 866-516-0115. Clark County also says a three-minute voicemail message may be left for an inmate for a fee through the contracted phone service.
Clark County Uses Two Different Inmate Mail Routes
Letters, Pictures and Drawings Go to Maryland
Personal correspondence is digitally scanned for delivery through jail kiosks/tablets. Mail sent directly to the Vancouver jail for ordinary personal delivery is returned.
Clark County Jail, WA
[Inmate Full Name], CFN #[Number]
PO Box 247
Phoenix, MD 21131
Legal Mail and Approved Publications Go to Vancouver
Clark County lists this address for incoming legal mail, publisher-sent approved publications, cashier’s checks and money orders:
[Inmate Full Name], CFN #[Number]
Clark County Jail Services
PO Box 1147
Vancouver, WA 98666
Personal-Mail Checks Before Sending
- Include the inmate’s full name and correct CFN.
- Include the sender’s full name and return address.
- Use an envelope no larger than 4½ by 9½ inches for personal correspondence.
- Do not send cash or personal checks in ordinary personal mail.
- Polaroids, oversized photos/cards, padded or electronic cards, stamps, blank stationery, stickers, glitter and various non-paper or prohibited-content items are rejected.
- Books, magazines and similar publications must follow the jail’s current publisher/bookseller rules.
Commissary Money Uses Access Corrections
When a person is booked, cash in their possession is placed into the inmate commissary account. Purchases such as snacks, hygiene supplies, clothing and writing materials are deducted from that account, subject to medical, mental-health or disciplinary restrictions.
Lobby Kiosk
Friends and family can add money at the Main Jail lobby kiosk. The current county page describes the kiosk as cash only and access is limited to lobby hours.
Online / Phone / App
Use Access Corrections for electronic deposits. Customer service: 636-888-7004.
At Release
Clark County says remaining inmate-account funds are issued on a debit card attached to the release paperwork/property.
Current Main Jail lobby hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00–11:45 a.m. and 12:45–4:30 p.m.; closed on holidays. Verify before driving.
Property Release Has a Useful 72-Hour Rule
Clark County inventories and stores personal property during booking. The county allows certain small personal items to be released under a more flexible rule during the first 72 hours of custody.
| Situation | Current county guidance |
|---|---|
| First 72 hours | Certain small items such as house keys, jewelry, wallet and money credited to the inmate account may be authorized for release. |
| After 72 hours | Property release and emergency release of larger items, clothing or shoes require approval from authorized jail staff. |
| Pickup | The inmate must authorize the person collecting property, and the collector needs valid photo identification. |
| Prescription medication | Medication is not released to anyone other than the person to whom it is prescribed. |
| Transfer to another facility | Property left behind may be disposed of or donated after 60 days if it is not collected. |
| Missing property after release | Contact the arresting agency for property not held by the jail. |
Safety, Health, Disability Access, PREA and Complaints
Urgent Inmate Safety or Communication Concern
Clark County Jail Services lists 564-397-2207 as a 24-hour number for inmate safety, communication or disability concerns.
Effective Communication / ADA
Communication or disability concerns can also be sent to CorrectionsECC@clark.wa.gov. The county cautions that this email is not monitored 24/7. A Health/Safety Form can also be completed in person.
PREA Reporting
The county-hosted inmate handbook lists internal reporting through staff, kiosk request/grievance and the inmate phone system. It also lists the PREA Investigation Office at 564-397-2211 ext. 4972 and preacomplaints@clark.wa.gov.
Because the handbook states that current jail policies supersede handbook language, verify a time-sensitive reporting route with Jail Services when needed.
Complaint About Jail Services Staff
Anyone may contact an on-duty supervisor at 564-397-2207. Jail Services Internal Affairs lists 564-397-2019, 564-397-3201 and jsia@clark.wa.gov.
Jail Record, Police Report and Court File Have Different Custodians
Clark County explicitly states that the online Jail Register is public, while most other records concerning a person confined in jail are confidential under RCW 70.48.100 unless an authorized disclosure rule applies. Current or former inmates can request access to their own records.
| Record needed | Start here | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Current custody entry | Official Jail Roster | Public Jail Register only; not the complete inmate file. |
| Jail Services record | Clark County Jail Services public-record request route | Confidential inmate information can be withheld. |
| Incident / arrest report | The arresting police agency or Sheriff | Jail Services is not automatically the custodian of the incident investigation. |
| Superior Court case file | Clark County Clerk / Odyssey Portal | Sealed or restricted records remain unavailable to the public. |
| District Court record | Clark County District Court | Court administrative records and actual case files can use different request processes. |
| Statewide criminal history | Washington State Patrol WATCH | A statewide criminal-history search is different from current jail custody. |
Clark County Clerk Criminal-Record Search Detail
The Clerk currently publishes a $5 fee per specified person for a mailed Clark County criminal-conviction search that includes written verification, with additional copy costs and possible research charges for older records. Online Odyssey searching can be used first to identify the case number.
WA VINE Can Send Custody Notifications
WA VINE is Washington’s statewide victim-information and custody-notification service. Clark County says registration is free and open to anyone, although victim notification is its primary purpose.
24-Hour Phone
1-877-846-3492
VINE can also be accessed online or through its mobile app.
Notification Methods
Text, mobile-app notification, email, telephone and TTY options are available.
When Clark County Jail Is No Longer the Custodian
Washington DOC
Use the Washington DOC Incarcerated Search after a state-corrections transfer or sentence.
Federal BOP
Use the BOP Inmate Locator when federal prison custody is relevant. A federal case does not necessarily mean the person has already entered a BOP institution.
Clark Recent Releases
Check the official Recent Releases page before assuming a missing current-roster entry means transfer.

Clark County Main Jail Map
The Main Jail is in the Clark County Law Enforcement Center in downtown Vancouver, next to the Superior Court complex. District Court moved to 210 E. 13th Street in 2026, so do not assume every court task belongs at the same building.
Use Clark County Jail Information Responsibly
- Do not treat an arrest, jail entry, charge or booking image as proof of guilt.
- Match the CFN and booking details before identifying a person with a common name.
- Do not treat a court case or warrant as proof of current jail custody.
- Recheck the live roster before paying bail, depositing money, visiting, mailing or arranging transportation.
- Do not use stale screenshots as current-custody evidence.
- Do not republish sensitive identifiers unnecessarily.
- Do not use public jail information to harass, threaten, stalk, shame or intimidate anyone.
- Use official court records or qualified legal advice when a legal consequence depends on the answer.
