Understand the Hold Before Calculating Release
What an Investigative Hold Means
The jail describes an Investigative Hold as a 72-hour hold that gives the arresting agency time to investigate and submit charges to the Prosecutor’s Office.
The county says bail and a filing deadline are set at the initial court appearance. The filing deadline is the date and time by which the person is to be released when formal charges are not filed.
Do not calculate the deadline yourself: weekends, additional warrants, separate charges, court orders and case-specific circumstances can affect custody. Verify the actual deadline.

Cash Bail
The jail says the full amount must be paid when cash bail is used. Cash bail can be accepted at the jail lobby kiosk when the bail is payable.
Where the money goes: bail is held by the court until the case ends and may be forfeited if the defendant fails to appear. The jail does not control the court’s final handling of bail.

The jail says the first appearance occurs on the first working day after arrest. The jail does not track later court dates.

Skagit County uses CIDNET for video visits, messages and phone calls. Visits can occur remotely or through the Community Justice Center lobby.

Register with an email address, time zone, first and last name, password and security PIN.

The jail FAQ says inmates generally cannot release keys, cell phones, wallets or similar items. An exception requires approval from the Shift Supervisor.
