Snohomish County Jail Roster: Inmate Search & Bail

Snohomish County, Washington • sources reviewed October 4, 2026

Check the Snohomish County Jail Register, Then Verify the Facility Before You Act

For current Snohomish County-area custody, start with the official NWS Jail Register. The county says the register now includes people housed at the Snohomish County Jail and the municipal jails in Lynnwood and Marysville, so the housing location on the result matters before you call, mail, visit, send money or post bail.

Use the jail register for custody and booking information, the correct court for the legal case, Washington DOC after a state transfer, and the federal locator only for federal custody. A booking charge is not a conviction.

Current scam warning: Snohomish County says scammers are using real names from the Jail Register to contact family, friends or coworkers and demand money for bail, electronic monitoring, treatment, warrants or jury-duty claims. The Sheriff says government agencies will not call or text demanding payment through Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, gift cards, wire transfers or off-site check-cashing locations. If a caller demands money, hang up and verify directly with the jail at 425-388-3395.

Use the Official Source That Matches Your Question

Custody, court records, warrants, medical records and prison custody are separate systems. Start with the jail register only when the immediate question is whether a person is listed in local jail custody or a recent booking.

QuestionBest official sourceWhat it answers
Is the person listed in local jail custody? NWS Jail Register Current jail inquiry, booking history, location, bond/bail and court-linked fields when available.
Is the person at Snohomish, Lynnwood or Marysville Jail? County Jail Register & Bail page Confirms that the shared register can include all three systems and tells you to contact the listed facility.
What is happening in the court case? Washington Courts Case Search and the correct Snohomish court Case number, hearing information, court routing and court record access.
Is there a misdemeanor or felony warrant? Snohomish County Search For Routes misdemeanor warrant questions to District Court and felony warrant questions to the County Clerk.
Has the person moved into Washington prison custody? Washington DOC Incarcerated Search Search by DOC number or name and see current DOC location/housing information.
Is the person in federal custody? Federal BOP Inmate Locator Federal Bureau of Prisons custody records from 1982 to the present.
How do I request non-public jail records? Requesting Jail Records Explains public fields, confidential records, medical authorization and current copy fees.

What a Snohomish Jail Register Result Can Tell You

The county’s records page specifically identifies inmate name, booking date, charge description, offense date, bail/bond information and arresting agency as information available for public release through the daily register. The live inquiry can also display identifiers, housing, release and court-related fields. Court records remain the better source for the final legal outcome.

FieldUseful forDo not assume
Subject Number Matching the person and completing mail/deposit tasks that require the 7-digit number. It is not the same as a court case or docket number.
Booking Number / Booking Date Identifying a specific custody event. The booking time is the same as arrest time or offense time.
Housing Facility Determining which jail’s visit, mail, phone and bail rules apply. Every result is housed at the county jail in Everett.
Booking Origin / Arresting Agency Identifying the agency connected to the booking or charge. The arresting agency is the current custodian or the court.
Charge Description Understanding the allegation connected to the booking. A listed charge is a conviction or final charging decision.
Bond / Bail Seeing release-related amounts or status in the register. A displayed amount is the only hold or that payment means immediate release.
Court / Court Date / Docket Routing the case to District, Superior or Municipal Court. The jail entry replaces the court’s current docket or hearing notice.
Release Date / Disposition Understanding what the jail system currently records about a booking. A jail disposition is the complete final court judgment.
Key legal distinction: arrest ≠ conviction; booking charge ≠ final disposition; warrant ≠ current incarceration; bail shown in a register ≠ guaranteed release; and a release date from an old screenshot ≠ current custody.

First Verify Which Jail Is Actually Holding the Person

Snohomish County’s current register architecture is unusual because a single county page routes users to custody information that can include the county jail and two municipal jails. Always follow the housing facility shown in the inmate summary.

Snohomish County Jail

3025 Oakes Ave., Everett, WA 98201
Phone: 425-388-3395

Use the county jail rules in this guide only when the result points to Snohomish County Corrections.

Lynnwood Municipal Jail

19321 44th Ave W, Lynnwood, WA 98036
Phone: 425-670-5648

Lynnwood has its own bail, Securus phone, digital mail, visit, property and jail-alternative rules. It also warns that it does not offer commissary services.

Marysville Municipal Jail

601 Delta Ave., Marysville, WA 98270
Phone: 360-363-8303

Marysville has separate in-person/video visit rules and its own city jail procedures. Do not send county-jail mail or money instructions to Marysville.

If the Person Is Not Showing, Troubleshoot Instead of Guessing

The county does not publish one fixed posting delay for every new booking. Work through the likely explanations and use the next official system only when the facts point there.

Name format problem

Possible explanation: the legal name, hyphenation, former surname or middle name differs.

Next action: try LastName, FirstName, then LastName, FirstInitial, then a single-name search.

Very recent arrest

Possible explanation: transport, identification, medical screening or booking is still in progress.

Next action: recheck the official register and call the listed jail if the timing is urgent.

Wrong facility filter or assumption

Possible explanation: the person is at Lynnwood, Marysville or another facility rather than Snohomish County Jail.

Next action: use the shared register and read the housing location before calling.

Already released or transferred

Possible explanation: the booking ended, bail was posted, a court ordered release or another agency took custody.

Next action: review booking history, then use the appropriate court, DOC or federal source.

State prison custody

Possible explanation: the person moved into Washington DOC custody.

Next action: search Washington DOC by name or DOC number.

Federal custody

Possible explanation: the person is in federal rather than county custody.

Next action: use the BOP locator; remember that federal and local custody systems are separate.

Court case or warrant but no jail entry

Possible explanation: a case or outstanding warrant can exist without present incarceration.

Next action: use the correct court/warrant route instead of treating “not found” as proof that no case exists.

Juvenile detention

Possible explanation: adult jail search rules do not apply to youth held through the juvenile system.

Next action: use Snohomish County Juvenile Court/Denney Juvenile Justice Center resources rather than the adult jail register.

How Snohomish County Bail Works

The Snohomish County Jail accepts bail on behalf of the court that has jurisdiction over the charge. The court determines the amount and type. Verify the live bail entry and every hold before paying.

Post bail at the jail

The inmate-accounts window is at the east end of the jail lobby, 3025 Oakes Avenue in Everett. The county lists it as open 7:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m., seven days a week.

On-site bail may be posted with cash, a cashier’s check or a bond from an authorized bail-bond company. Cashier’s checks must be payable to Snohomish County Bail Fund.

Card payment by phone or online

The county’s current bail page lists GovPayNet for cash-bail payments by major credit, debit or prepaid debit card, 24/7 online or by phone at 1-877-EZBAIL5. The county lists a 7% service fee, with possible additional card-issuer fees.

Bail-bond companies

The county says authorized bail-bond companies generally charge about 8%–15% of the bail amount as their non-refundable fee, but Snohomish County Corrections does not recommend a particular company. Confirm the company’s terms yourself.

Release is not immediate: the Sheriff’s current bail page says release after bail may take as long as six hours, depending on the day, time and release queue. Another hold or court requirement can also prevent release. Do not promise a pickup time based only on payment.

All bail received at the jail is forwarded to the court that ordered it. Questions about bail reimbursement go to that court, not the jail.

Use the Court Field to Choose District, Superior or Municipal Court

The jail register can point to different courts. The correct court depends on the case, not simply on where the person is housed.

If the roster points to…UseCurrent practical note
Snohomish County District Court District Court Handles infractions, criminal traffic and criminal non-traffic matters. The county prosecutor says its District Court unit handles misdemeanor and gross-misdemeanor cases from the Sheriff, State Patrol, state agencies and contracting cities.
Snohomish County Superior Court Superior Court / County Clerk Use for Superior Court criminal cases, court documents, hearings and clerk records. Washington Courts directs Snohomish Superior Court online record searches to Odyssey Portal.
Everett, Lynnwood, Marysville or another Municipal Court The named city court or Washington Courts case search A municipal case is not automatically controlled by Snohomish County District or Superior Court.

A September 2026 change matters for District Court searches

Snohomish County District Court says it transitioned to Washington’s statewide Enterprise Justice case-management system in September 2026 and links users to re:SearchWA for court records plus eFileWA for electronic filing. If an old saved court-search workflow no longer behaves the same way, start from the current District Court page.

Washington Courts still helps route cases

Washington Courts provides statewide name, case-number and court-date search tools. Its support guidance also directs Snohomish Superior Court users to Odyssey Portal. Online data can have limits, so verify a hearing deadline or appearance instruction with the court shown on the case.

District Court

Automated information: 425-388-3331

Superior Court Clerk

General information: 425-388-3466
3000 Rockefeller Ave., M/S 605, Everett, WA 98201

A Warrant Search Is Not a Jail Search

Snohomish County’s Sheriff FAQ routes misdemeanor warrant questions to District Court at 425-388-3331 and felony warrant questions to the Snohomish County Clerk’s Office at 425-388-3466. The county also maintains an Outstanding Warrant search route.

A warrant can exist while a person is not currently incarcerated. Likewise, a jail record can exist for reasons unrelated to the warrant you are researching. Use the warrant/court source to verify the warrant and the jail register to verify current custody.

Warrant and jury-duty scam warning: Snohomish County District Court says courts and government agencies do not initiate calls demanding payment or financial information for missed jury service or warrants. Do not pay a caller to “clear” a warrant. Contact the court directly.

Snohomish County Jail Social Visits Are Video Visits

The Sheriff says the Corrections Bureau does not provide contact social visiting. Family and friends register with Smart Communications and use remote video visitation or an on-site video kiosk. Social visits are a maximum of 30 minutes.

Registration

Visitors register online and the county says the process requires a valid email address, valid ID, mailing address, Social Security number, phone number, profile photo, a clear selfie and images of the front and back of state-issued ID/driver’s license.

On-site video kiosks

The Sheriff lists three video kiosks in the jail cashier lobby. An account with the communications vendor is still required, but the county says an on-site kiosk visit is free.

Remote visit timing

The inmate must be available. Housing-unit out-of-cell schedules can change for operational or security reasons, and jail staff will not tell the public the inmate’s schedule.

Visitor rules

Bring valid photo ID. The county limits a kiosk to two adults and/or children at one time, prohibits weapons, food and drinks in visiting areas, and requires appropriate clothing and conduct.

Official-hours conflict: the current visitation page says the cashier lobby is open 7:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. daily for kiosk access, while the same county site’s Main Jail contact block lists “Lobby Video Visitation” as Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Because those official statements conflict, call 425-388-3395 before driving to the jail for an on-site video visit.

Professional visitors have separate contact-visit and video options. High-security inmates requiring multiple-deputy escorts have more limited professional contact-visit hours.

Phone Calls, Mail, Money and Commissary

Phone calls

Snohomish County uses Smart Communications for inmate phone services. Some recipients need a prepaid account. The jail warns that three-way calling, transferring, call waiting, touch-tone interaction and long periods of silence can disconnect a call.

For unwanted inmate calls, the county directs users to Smart Communications at 1-727-349-1561 to request a block.

Personal mail is scanned

Address personal mail to:
Inmate Name and ID #
Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office
PO Box 9196
Seminole, FL 33775

The county says personal mail is scanned and delivered digitally on jail tablets, then the original is destroyed. Do not send sentimental originals.

Legal mail uses the Everett jail address

Attorney-client privileged mail must be clearly marked LEGAL MAIL and sent to: Inmate Name and ID #, c/o Snohomish County Corrections, 3025 Oakes Ave., Everett, WA 98201. Do not send legal mail to the Florida personal-mail address.

Books and packages

Care packages sent directly by family/friends are not accepted through regular mail. Approved hygiene, underwear and writing-supply packages can be ordered through the jail’s designated commissary package service. Books and magazines must come from a publisher, warehouse retailer or online bookseller; books must be paperback and remain subject to security/content restrictions.

Deposit money to the correct inmate account

Snohomish County uses Access Secure Deposits / Access Corrections. Phone and internet deposits require the inmate’s 7-digit global subject number from the Jail Register.

  • Phone/online: Access Secure Deposits at 866-345-1884 or Access Corrections. The county says eligible card deposits generally post automatically within about five minutes, and the provider charges a non-refundable service fee.
  • In person: cash, cashier’s checks or money orders are accepted at the Main Jail inmate-account window, 7:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. daily. Personal checks are not accepted.
  • Cashier’s check/money order payee: payable to Snohomish County Corrections or SCC. Put the inmate’s name and global subject number in the note/memo field, not the payee line.
  • Mail deposits: the county says deposits are no longer accepted through mail.
Debt deduction: if an inmate account has debt, the current commissary page says 60% of a new deposit is applied to debt and 40% to the inmate’s account. Do not assume the full amount deposited will be available for commissary.

Weekly commissary cutoff

Inmates may order commissary once a week. The county says orders are placed Saturday and processed Sunday morning, and funds must be in the account by 11:00 p.m. Saturday for the following week’s commissary. Delivery day varies by housing unit.

Family and friends may order certain hygiene, underwear and writing supplies by the approved package service or by calling 800-546-6283.

Jail Records, Medical Records and Booking Photos

The daily jail register is intentionally not a complete inmate file. Snohomish County says the public register releases inmate name, booking dates, charge descriptions, offense dates, bail/bond information and arresting agency. Other jail records are generally confidential under RCW 70.48.100 and require the inmate’s written permission, release directly to the inmate or a judge-signed court order.

Current jail-record copy fees

Record formatCurrent county fee
Paper copies$0.15 per page plus postage/mailing
Scanned copies$0.10 per page
Electronic files/attachments$0.05 for each four electronic files or attachments
CD$1.50 plus postage/mailing
DVD$1.60 plus postage/mailing
USB drive$7.00 plus postage/mailing
Audio/photos/other mediaActual cost plus postage/mailing

The county waives production fees when the total is under $1, may require up to a 10% deposit for a large request, and allows in-person visual inspection by appointment at no cost. Recheck the live records page before ordering because fees can change.

Medical records need authorization

Jail medical records require a signed Authorization for Use and Disclosure of Health Care Information from the inmate, unless there is a judge-signed court order. The county accepts the completed authorization in person, by mail, email or fax through Corrections medical-records channels.

Do not expect a public mugshot

The Sheriff’s current media/public-information guidance says booking photos (“mug shots”) and certain inmate information are generally restricted under RCW 70.48.100 and are not typically released, except in circumstances such as assisting an active law-enforcement investigation. A missing photo does not mean the person is not in custody.

Medical, Mental Health, PREA and Property

Medical and mental health

The Jail Medical Services Unit says people are screened by a registered nurse in booking and can be referred to a doctor, advanced-practice providers, mental health or dental services. The listed Medical Clinic number is 425-388-3548 and the Mental Health Office is 425-388-3092.

PREA reporting

For sexual abuse or harassment in Snohomish County Corrections custody, the Sheriff publishes an outside/public reporting phone at 425-388-5010, plus email, in-person and mail routes. If someone is in immediate danger, use emergency services.

Property release

An inmate may release money/property during the first 72 hours of incarceration by initiating an approved property-release form. After 72 hours, the county says requests are allowed only for extenuating circumstances.

Prison-transfer property

When a person is convicted and sentenced to prison, the inmate must authorize a third party to pick up belongings. The designated person has 30 days to collect them before unclaimed property may be donated or disposed of under state law.

Health privacy: jail staff cannot simply release medical information to family members. Use the official medical-record authorization process when records are needed, and use the published jail/medical contacts for urgent information rather than posting health details publicly.

If Local Jail Custody Ends, Use the Next System That Fits

Washington DOC

Use Washington DOC Incarcerated Search after state sentencing or transfer. Search by DOC number or name; results can show age, current location and housing assignment.

WA VINE notifications

Washington DOC links to WA VINE for automated custody-status notifications. VINE is separate from DOC’s own Advance Notification program. Use notifications as a backup, not as the only source for an urgent safety plan.

Federal custody

Use the BOP Inmate Locator when federal custody is plausible. A federal result does not replace the county jail register for a local booking.

Map: Snohomish County Main Jail

Use the map for orientation only. Verify current custody and the service you need before traveling, especially because visit hours and service windows can change.

Use Booking Information Responsibly

Public jail information can change after bail, court action, transfer or release. A saved screenshot is not reliable proof of current custody, and a charge description does not establish guilt or the final outcome of a case.

Do not use jail information to harass, threaten, stalk, shame or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. For legal reliance, use the correct court record and, when needed, advice from a licensed attorney.

Snohomish County Jail Roster FAQ

How do I search the Snohomish County Jail roster?

Open the official NWS Jail Register. The official search guidance uses LastName, FirstName for a full-name search and suggests LastName, FirstInitial or a single name for broader results. Open the matching record and verify the housing facility before taking action.

Does the Snohomish County Jail Register also show Lynnwood and Marysville inmates?

Yes. Snohomish County says the Jail Register now includes people incarcerated in the municipal jails in Lynnwood and Marysville as well as the Snohomish County Jail. Use the housing location in the inmate summary to determine which facility’s rules apply.

What is the 7-digit subject number used for?

The county uses the inmate’s 7-digit subject/global number for tasks such as personal mail and Access Secure Deposits. Copy it from the current Jail Register so you do not send mail or money using the wrong identifier.

Why can’t I find someone who was just arrested?

The person may still be processing, may be listed under a different legal name, may already have been released or transferred, or may be housed in a different local jail. Recheck the official register, broaden the name search and verify the correct facility before searching state or federal systems.

How can I post bail at Snohomish County Jail?

The jail accepts on-site bail at the inmate-accounts window between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily using cash, an eligible cashier’s check or an authorized bail-bond company. The county also lists 24/7 card bail through GovPayNet with a 7% service fee. Confirm the live amount and holds first.

How long can release take after bail is posted?

The Sheriff’s current bail page says release may take as long as six hours depending on timing and the number of pending releases. Other holds or court requirements may prevent release, so payment is not a guaranteed pickup time.

Can family and friends visit an inmate in person?

Snohomish County does not offer contact social visiting. Social visits use Smart Communications video, either remotely or through on-site video kiosks. The county’s current pages contain conflicting lobby-hour information, so call 425-388-3395 before traveling for an on-site kiosk visit.

Where do I send personal mail to a Snohomish County inmate?

Use the inmate’s name and 7-digit ID number, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, PO Box 9196, Seminole, FL 33775. Personal mail is scanned for digital delivery and the original is destroyed. Attorney-client legal mail uses the Everett jail address instead.

How do I put money on a Snohomish County inmate account?

Use Access Secure Deposits/Access Corrections by phone or internet, or deposit approved funds at the jail inmate-accounts window. The 7-digit global subject number is required for remote deposits. The county no longer accepts inmate-account deposits by mail.

Does Snohomish County publicly release jail mugshots?

The Sheriff’s public-information guidance says booking photos and certain inmate information are generally restricted under RCW 70.48.100 and are not typically released, apart from limited lawful purposes such as assisting an active investigation. A missing mugshot does not indicate release.

Which court should I check after finding a jail record?

Use the court named on the jail entry. District Court handles district-level criminal matters, Superior Court handles its criminal docket, and municipal cases go to the named city court. Washington Courts case search helps route many cases, while Snohomish Superior Court online records also use Odyssey Portal.

How do I check a Snohomish County warrant?

The Sheriff’s FAQ directs misdemeanor-warrant questions to District Court at 425-388-3331 and felony-warrant questions to the Snohomish County Clerk at 425-388-3466. A warrant is not proof that the person is currently in jail.
