Craighead County Jail Roster 2026: Bookings & Inmates

Craighead County, Arkansas • verified August 20, 2026

Move From Recent Booking to Current Custody in the Right Order

Craighead County provides three separate jail lists: people currently incarcerated, people booked during the last 48 hours and people released during the last 48 hours.

The fastest safe workflow is to choose the correct list first, match the record carefully, then verify court, bond or release information before paying or travelling.

The jail roster is only one part of the process. Court records, bond, visitation, communications, records requests and victim notifications use separate systems.

Three official list views

Current Inmates, Recent Bookings or Recent Releases?

The Craighead County roster has three top-level lists. Pick the list based on the event you are trying to verify.

Craighead Custody List Finder

Select the custody question first.
Official list Best use Critical limitation
All Current Inmates Present Craighead County Detention Center custody. A booking, release, court order or transfer can change after your screen loads.
Booked in Last 48 Hours Same-day, overnight and other recent admissions. A recent booking can already display a release date and time.
Released in Last 48 Hours A recent release event or a person who disappeared from Current Inmates. The person may have been arrested days, weeks or even months before the release.

All Current Inmates

Use this when the question is whether someone appears to remain in Craighead County Detention Center custody.

Open All Current Inmates

Booked in Last 48 Hours

This is the official list that best answers “Craighead County daily bookings,” “today’s arrests,” “overnight bookings” and similar searches.

Open Booked in Last 48 Hours

Do not call this a current-inmate list. Recent-booking records can already include a Released date and time.

Released in Last 48 Hours

This list is based on a recent release event. A person can appear here even when the original arrest happened much earlier.

Open Released in Last 48 Hours

Pickup warning: a local “Released” record does not by itself prove the person went home. A person can leave county custody because of transfer, court action or another custodial arrangement. Confirm before travelling.

What to Do When the Person Is Missing

Craighead No-Result Helper

Select the situation that best matches your search.

Use This Troubleshooting Order

  • Refresh All Current Inmates.
  • Check Booked in Last 48 Hours after a new arrest.
  • Use the roster’s Select Name control.
  • Check Released in Last 48 Hours if the person was visible earlier.
  • Search Arkansas court records if the criminal case continues after release.
  • Search Arkansas DOC after sentencing or transfer.
  • Check the federal inmate locator when federal custody is plausible.

Current-Custody Call Script

“I am trying to confirm whether [full legal name] is currently housed at Craighead County Detention Center. I checked the online roster at [time]. Can you confirm current custody and tell me which office handles the court, bond or release question I have?”

District Court — Verify the Exact Location

Craighead County’s current Departments page lists three different District Court locations depending on the task:

Task Current county-listed location
Mail 603 S. Madison, Jonesboro, AR 72401
Payment window 511 S. Main, Jonesboro
Court appearance 511 S. Union, Courtroom 4A
Craighead County District Court
Main phone: 870-933-4508
Other Clerk numbers currently listed: 870-933-4509 and 870-933-4581

County-site conflict: some older Craighead County pages still show 410 W. Washington as District Court. Use the current Departments page and call before a hearing rather than trusting an old directory or cached address.

Bond Payment Through the Sheriff

The current Sheriff jail page publishes multiple ways to post bond.

Method Current Sheriff instruction
Online Use the bond link provided by the Sheriff jail page.
Lobby bond kiosk Accepts $100, $20, $10 and $5 denominations and does not give change.
Debit / credit terminal Current Sheriff page lists a 7% service fee.
Money order / cashier’s check Make payable to Craighead County.
Personal check Not accepted.

Use the current fee, not the old press release. A 2014 Sheriff release mentioned a 5% card fee, but the current Jail page now lists 7% for the Sheriff’s debit/credit terminal.

Open the Sheriff-linked online bond portal

Do not pay from one roster line alone. Confirm every charge, the bond on each matter, additional holds and whether posting bond would make the person release-eligible.

Bond Verification Script

“I am checking release for [full legal name]. Please confirm every current charge, the bond on each case, any additional hold, the approved payment method and whether satisfying the bond would make the person eligible for release.”

Public Defender Request

The current Craighead County District Court resources include a Public Defender Request Form. Use the court resource rather than asking jail staff to determine eligibility for appointed counsel.

Make a Narrow Request

  • Identify the exact existing record.
  • Provide the approximate date.
  • Add a report, booking or case number when known.
  • Identify the agency that created the record when possible.
  • Ask for an electronic copy when that works for you.

Focused FOIA Request Wording

“I request an electronic copy of the releasable existing [record type] concerning [incident/person] on or about [date]. The booking, incident or case number is [number if known].”

Capacity Figures Conflict Across County Pages

The Sheriff Jail page currently describes a maximum of 346 adult inmates and separately notes that a 2007 booking expansion raised total capacity to 360. A different county Sheriff Department page currently describes adult detention capacity as 381.

Do not use any of those capacity figures as a live inmate count. Capacity, operational beds and current population are different concepts. Use the live roster for an individual custody search.

Accuracy and privacy

Use Craighead County Booking Information Responsibly

  • Do not treat an arrest, charge or mugshot as proof of guilt.
  • Do not identify someone from a shared name alone.
  • Do not treat a 48-hour booking record as current custody without checking Current Inmates.
  • Do not treat a recent release as proof that the criminal case ended.
  • Do not republish an old booking image as a present fact.
  • Do not expose protected medical, juvenile or sensitive personal information.
  • Do not harass, threaten or shame a person because of a roster entry.
  • Use Arkansas court records when a legal outcome matters.
