Jasper County Jail Roster MO: Inmate Search & Bookings

Jasper County, Missouri • official-source custody guide

Search the Jasper County Jail Roster PDF, Then Verify the Court, Bond or Jail Task

The official Jasper County Sheriff’s Office roster is a multi-page PDF for people incarcerated at the Jasper County Detention Center in Carthage. Start with that Sheriff source, read every row tied to the person, then use Missouri Case.net or the correct jail service for the next step.

Booking is not conviction. A roster entry, arrest, charge, warrant, hold or bond amount does not establish guilt or the final court outcome. Use the court docket for the legal case and recheck the Sheriff source before making a time-sensitive decision.

Jasper County Official Source Router

Jail custody, court cases, warrants, police reports and state-prison custody are separate records. The Jasper County roster can show several agencies or holds for one person, so the agency name in a row is not automatically the current custodian or the court handling every case.

How to Search the Jasper County Jail Roster

The official roster is a report, not a normal search form with individual profile pages. Use the PDF’s own find function and read the header date/time before treating the result as current.

Open the Sheriff roster page

Start from the Sheriff’s inmate-roster page and open the linked roster PDF. This avoids relying on a copied roster or an old search-engine preview.

Read the report timestamp

Look at the date and time printed near the top of the PDF. If custody is urgent and the report appears stale, call 417-358-8177 instead of assuming nothing changed.

Search the last name first

On Windows use Ctrl+F, on Mac use Command+F, and on a phone use the PDF viewer’s Find/Search option. Try the legal surname first, then alternate or hyphenated spellings when appropriate.

Read every line for that person

A single person can have several rows for Jasper County charges, city cases, another county, probation/parole matters or a federal hold. Do not stop at the first bond amount.

Copy the case or warrant number

When the PDF provides a court-style case number, use it in Missouri Case.net. This is usually a better legal-record key than searching a common name.

Verify before paying, visiting or driving

Bond, release, housing and privileges can change after a PDF is generated. Call the responsible office when your next action depends on the person still being in custody.

Jasper County-specific reading rule: the roster can place several agency and bond entries under one name. Treat the full group of rows as one custody picture. One “no bond,” DOC sentence, outside-county hold or federal hold can matter even when another row lists a cash or surety amount.

What the Jasper County Roster Fields Mean

Roster field What it helps confirm What it does not prove
Name Who the custody rows are grouped under. Identity from name alone when people have similar names.
Agency / charge The arresting/holding agency label and allegation or custody reason shown in the report. Final prosecutor filing, conviction or which agency physically houses the person now.
PC / warrant or case number A reference that may connect the custody row to a court or warrant record. The meaning of every abbreviation; do not guess an unexplained code.
Bond amount / type The bond information printed for that particular row at report time. That paying that one amount clears every hold or guarantees release.
Arrest date/time The timing attached to the booking/custody entry. The court filing date or final case status.
Release date/time A release-related entry when one is shown. That all legal obligations ended or that a future estimated event is guaranteed.
Other county/city/DOC/federal hold Another authority may have a legal interest in the person. Where the person will be transferred next or when transfer/release will occur.
Why this matters for Jasper County: the Sheriff’s report can mix county charges, municipal police entries, outside-county holds, parole/probation matters and federal holds under the same person. Court, bond and release questions must be checked against every applicable row.
No-result troubleshooting

If the Person Is Not in the Jasper County Roster

A missing name does not prove the person was never arrested. Jasper County’s public source is a generated PDF, and the person may be in intake, released, transferred or held under a different authority.

The arrest happened very recently

Possible explanation: booking may not be reflected in the PDF you opened.

Next action: refresh from the Sheriff roster page, check the report timestamp and call the detention center if immediate custody status matters.

The name spelling may be different

Possible explanation: the roster may use a full legal name, middle name, former surname or different spacing/hyphenation.

Next action: search the surname alone, then try verified alternate spellings. Do not use a photo or name alone to make a final identity match.

The person disappeared after being listed

Possible explanation: release, transfer, court movement, another jurisdiction’s hold or state/federal transfer may have occurred.

Next action: check Case.net for the legal case, Missouri DOC for state custody and BOP for federal custody. Call before arranging pickup.

You found a warrant or court case but no jail entry

Possible explanation: a warrant or active criminal case does not mean the person is currently incarcerated.

Next action: use Case.net for the case and the Sheriff/Warrants Division for current operational confirmation.

The arresting agency was Joplin, Carthage or another city

Possible explanation: the arresting agency and current custodian are different concepts. Jasper County also houses inmates for other local jurisdictions when space is available.

Next action: check the Jasper County roster first when the person was booked into the county detention center, then follow the case to the correct municipal or circuit court.

Custody changes

Booking, Holds, Transfer and Release

The Jasper County Detention Center holds pretrial detainees, people serving local sentences and, when space is available, people held for other local jurisdictions. That is why an arresting agency shown in the roster should not be confused with the physical jail.

The public roster can show outside-county, municipal, DOC, parole/probation or federal-related holds. If more than one hold appears, ask which hold controls release before paying anything.

No guaranteed release clock: a court order, bond payment or displayed release-related field does not guarantee immediate exit from the facility. Processing, other holds and transfer arrangements can affect what happens next. Confirm release with detention staff before travelling for pickup.
Money tied to release

How to Verify Jasper County Bond Before Paying

The Sheriff’s Warrants Division coordinates warrant processing and works with booking/detention operations; the Sheriff reports that the division processes bonds. Start by reading every bond row in the roster, then confirm the controlling case and current payment method with the Sheriff before payment.

Confirm these first

  • Full legal name and the correct custody record
  • Every case/warrant number under the person
  • Cash, surety, combined or no-bond wording on each row
  • Outside-county, parole, DOC, ICE or federal holds
  • Whether the court has changed the order since the PDF was generated

Do not mix payment systems

Commissary money is not bond. Court fines/costs are not bond. A card processor named in an older jail handbook should not be used until the current Sheriff confirms it is still the accepted bond route.

Source-age warning: the 2022 inmate handbook lists GovPay card bond payments and a 9% card fee. The current Sheriff Warrants page reviewed for this article does not repeat that payment method or fee. Because payment vendors and fees can change, verify the current method at 417-358-8177 before submitting card details.
Jail data is not the court docket

Jasper County Court and Warrant Routing

Jasper County is in Missouri’s 29th Judicial Circuit. The Circuit Court’s Criminal Division handles criminal cases filed by the Prosecuting Attorney, while municipal matters may route through a city municipal court. Use the case number from the roster when possible.

Open Missouri Case.net

Search by case number when you have it. If you only have a name, use a litigant-name search and confirm Jasper County/29th Judicial Circuit.

Check the current docket

Review public docket entries, scheduled hearings and disposition information. A jail charge description is not a substitute for the filed court record.

Use the correct Jasper County court location

The county has court facilities in both Joplin and Carthage. The Circuit Clerk or Case.net can help identify where a particular matter is set.

Joplin Courts Building

633 S Pearl Avenue
Joplin, MO 64801

Criminal Division: 417-625-4310

Carthage Courthouse

Municipal-case clue: the Jasper County court site separately lists municipal courts for cities including Carthage, Joplin, Carl Junction, Carterville, Duenweg, Duquesne, Oronogo and Webb City. If the roster row is a city case, verify whether the case belongs in that municipal court rather than assuming every row is a Circuit Court matter.

Check Jasper County municipal court contacts

Warrant is not custody

The Sheriff’s Warrants Division maintains warrants and orders of protection, but a warrant record alone does not prove the person is currently in the detention center. The Jasper County Circuit Court’s criminal FAQ directs people to Case.net for name-based warrant checking in public cases, while the Sheriff can confirm detention/warrant operations.

Current Sheriff page controls over older handbook hours

Jasper County Inmate Visitation

Jasper County says personal visitation is by video, not in-person contact visitation. The current Sheriff visitation page lists free on-site video visits by housing pod and remote video visitation through CIDnet.

On-site video hours
10:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. on the inmate’s assigned visitation day.
Remote CIDnet hours
Daily, 7:00 a.m.–12:00 a.m., subject to availability.
On-site visit length
One 15-minute visit on the assigned visitation day.
Visitors
Up to three visitors in one party; visitors may be subject to background checks and asked for photo ID.

WednesdayMinisters for males and females
ThursdayC-Pod
FridayD-Pod
SaturdayE-Pod, T-4
SundayF-Pod, Holdovers, K-Pod, L-Pod, M-Pod, T-5

Remote registration/login is through CIDnet. The Sheriff page lists CIDnet support at 1-888-984-1903. It also says inmate email, texting and picture mail are available; submitted pictures require approval and may take 48–72 hours, and a denied picture can still result in an account charge.

Why not copy the handbook schedule? the older 2022 handbook shows a different evening on-site window. The Sheriff’s newer visitation page lists 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.; use the live visitation page immediately before a visit.
Phone and electronic communication

Calls, Email, Texting and Picture Mail

The Sheriff directs people who want to receive inmate calls to create an account with City Tele Coin. The published support number is 1-318-746-1114.

Open City Tele Coin

The inmate handbook says phones are available in dayrooms outside lockdown periods and calls are limited to 15 minutes under the handbook rules. Because that handbook was revised in 2022, confirm any current call-duration or account restriction with the facility/provider if it affects a planned call.

CIDnet is the Sheriff-listed platform for remote video and also supports inmate email, texting and picture mail at this facility. These communications are not the same as privileged attorney communication; the jail handbook warns that ordinary correspondence, calls and video visits may be monitored.

A 2024 rule change matters

Jasper County Inmate Mail: Postcards Only for Personal Correspondence

The current Sheriff mail page says ordinary incoming correspondence is accepted as postcards only. Address the postcard to the inmate at the detention center and include a complete return name and address.

[Inmate’s Full Name]
405 East 5th Street
Carthage, MO 64836
  • Postcards may be no larger than 5 × 7 inches.
  • A return name and address is required.
  • Sexual or violent material is not permitted.
  • Correspondence between inmates in different institutions requires pre-approval.
Book-rule update: the Sheriff’s current mail page states that, effective May 8, 2024, Jasper County Detention Center no longer accepts delivered books for residents. An older 2022 handbook describes publisher/distributor book mail. Use the newer mail page rather than the older handbook for this issue.

Legal mail follows different protections in the inmate handbook and should not be treated as ordinary postcard correspondence. If you are sending time-sensitive legal material, confirm the current legal-mail procedure with the detention center.

Commissary is separate from bond

How to Add Money to a Jasper County Inmate Account

The Sheriff currently lists three commissary deposit routes:

  1. Send a money order addressed to the inmate and labeled for commissary.
  2. Deposit through JailATM; the Sheriff lists support at 1-866-933-6386.
  3. Use cash or a credit card at the kiosk in the detention-center lobby.

The 2022 handbook says unpaid medical or other incarceration-related expenses can be deducted from the inmate account and remaining funds are transferred to a debit card at release. Do not assume the full amount deposited will necessarily remain available for commissary purchases.

Provider fees and rules can change. Review the amount and fee shown by JailATM before completing an online payment, and confirm the inmate identity and current custody first.

Health, medication, property and safety

Medication, Medical Requests and Immediate Safety Concerns

The Sheriff’s 2022 inmate handbook says medications brought by an inmate or family must be approved by the county physician and must be in a current prescription container clearly labeled for that inmate. Because medication procedures are safety-sensitive and the handbook is older, call the detention center before bringing medication to the facility.

The same handbook states that inability to pay does not result in denial of medication or medical services, although qualifying costs can be tracked as inmate debt. Families should not rely on a public roster for medical information; health information can be restricted by privacy rules.

PREA and immediate safety

The handbook states that Jasper County Detention Center has a zero-tolerance policy for sexual misconduct/violence and directs an incarcerated person who is a victim of sexual assault to notify a staff member immediately. The official sources reviewed did not publish a separate current external PREA hotline for this facility; outside callers should contact the detention center and ask for the current PREA/supervisor reporting route.

Personal property after release or transfer

The 2022 handbook says inventoried property is returned at release/transfer unless released earlier through a property-release process. It also says unclaimed property is not retained more than 14 days after release or transfer. Verify the current pickup process before travelling, especially when another person will collect property.

Record owner matters

Jail Reports, Patrol Reports and Booking Photos

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office publishes separate contacts for patrol reports and jail reports. A jail booking record is not the same record as a city police incident report or a Circuit Court case file.

Does the Jasper County roster show mugshots?

The Sheriff’s public roster format reviewed for this article is a multi-page text-style PDF and does not function as a mugshot gallery with individual booking-photo profiles. The current Sheriff pages reviewed did not publish a separate booking-photo request procedure. If a releasable booking image or jail record is needed, start with the Sheriff’s jail-report records contact and ask what can be released under current law and policy.

Do not treat any booking photograph as proof of guilt or the final disposition of a case.

Missouri custody notifications changed in 2026

Missouri DOC says MOVANS notification options changed effective May 5, 2026: phone and VINELink app notifications are no longer available. For court events and local jail/detention custody-status notifications, the state directs users to VINELink with SMS text or email notification options. State-DOC custody notification requests use Missouri DOC’s victim-services route.

Read public custody information carefully

Responsible Use of Jasper County Booking Information

  • An arrest, booking, charge, warrant or mugshot is not a conviction.
  • A roster PDF can become stale after it is generated; use the report timestamp and recheck the source.
  • A warrant does not prove current incarceration.
  • A city police agency on a row is not necessarily the current custodian or final court.
  • Bond shown on one row does not prove every hold is bondable or cleared.
  • Use Missouri Case.net for public legal outcomes and current court events.
  • Do not use public jail information for harassment, threats, stalking, retaliation or public shaming.
Jasper County inmate-search questions

Jasper County Jail Roster FAQs

Where is the official Jasper County, Missouri jail roster?

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office publishes an inmate-roster page that links to a current PDF list for people incarcerated at the Jasper County Detention Center in Carthage.

How do I search the Jasper County jail roster PDF?

Open the Sheriff roster PDF, read its report timestamp, then use Ctrl+F on Windows, Command+F on Mac or the PDF viewer’s Find/Search function on a phone. Search the last name first and read every row grouped under the person.

What if the same person has several lines in the roster?

Read all of them. Jasper County’s report can show separate county charges, city cases, outside-county holds, DOC/parole matters or federal holds. One bond line should not be read in isolation.

Does a Jasper County roster entry mean the person was convicted?

No. A booking, arrest, charge, warrant or bond entry is not proof of conviction. Use Missouri Case.net for public court docket and disposition information.

Why can’t I find someone who was just arrested?

The PDF you opened may predate the completed booking, the name may be recorded differently, or the person may have been quickly released or moved. Refresh from the Sheriff page and call the detention center when current custody is time-sensitive.

How do I verify a Jasper County court date or warrant?

Use Missouri Case.net and confirm Jasper County/29th Judicial Circuit. The Jasper County Criminal Division can help with court-date questions, and the Sheriff’s Warrants Division handles warrant/bond operations.

How do I post bond for someone in Jasper County jail?

First confirm every case, hold, bond type and current amount with the Sheriff. An older 2022 handbook lists a card-payment option and fee, but current payment methods should be confirmed before submitting money because vendors and fees can change.

Are Jasper County jail visits in person?

Personal visits are by video. The Sheriff currently lists on-site video sessions by housing pod and remote CIDnet visitation, with one 15-minute on-site visit on the assigned visitation day.

How do I send mail or commissary money?

Personal correspondence is postcard-only under the current Sheriff mail page. Commissary deposits can be made by money order, JailATM or the detention-center lobby kiosk. Commissary is separate from bond.

Where should I search after a transfer from Jasper County?

Use Missouri DOC if the person may have entered state custody and the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator for federal prison custody. If the roster shows another county or city hold, identify that authority before assuming where the person was transferred.
