Use Brown County District Court for the Legal Case

Brown County District Court is at 14 South State Street, New Ulm, MN 56073, phone 507-441-7020. The Minnesota Judicial Branch lists business hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and identifies the court as part of the Fifth Judicial District.

The court page says the weekly public calendar is posted at 7:00 a.m. each business day and updated hourly. It also warns that not every matter appears on the public calendar, so a missing calendar entry does not prove an appearance was cancelled or rescheduled.

Brown County Jail Visits: The Current Rule Is to Call 24 Hours Ahead

Brown County’s current jail page states that all visitors must call the jail at least 24 hours in advance to schedule a visit. Use 507-233-6775 and confirm the appointment before traveling.

Older county guide: useful context, not a substitute for a current call

The county-hosted family guide lists Sunday 8:30–11:30 a.m., Monday 9:00–11:30 a.m. and Thursday 7:30–10:00 p.m.; it also lists 20-minute visits, one visitor per visiting day, photo ID, and an adult/guardian requirement for visitors under 18. Because the current jail page itself only clearly confirms the 24-hour advance-call requirement, verify the older guide’s exact time blocks and limits when scheduling.

Property Drop-Off Has a Current Approval Rule

Brown County’s current jail page says all property dropped off or shipped into the jail must be approved and searched before acceptance.

Mail, Phone Service, Inmate Money and Commissary

The older county guide lists inmate voicemail at 507-571-2751 and specific Reliance card denominations, but those details should be confirmed before use because the guide is older than the current jail page.

Medical, Mental-Health and Urgent Welfare Concerns

The current Brown County jail page says detainees have access to a public-health nurse, doctor and mental-health professionals, and that correctional officers are trained medical first responders.

If you need to pass along urgent medication, withdrawal, suicide-risk or other health information for someone in custody, call 507-233-6775 and clearly state that you are reporting an urgent health or safety concern. Medical privacy rules may limit what staff can disclose back to family, but that does not prevent you from providing relevant information.

Brown County publishes an outstanding-warrant page and says the list is updated nightly. The county also warns that every warrant must be confirmed by the issuing agency before enforcement and that the public list may differ from court records or the Sheriff’s internal warrant system.

A booking photo records an arrest-related identification image; it does not show whether the case was dismissed, amended, resolved by plea, tried or resulted in a conviction.
